WMPA Newsletter 09-28-17

Hello fellow band parents! A note that we are in need of cases of water for the band (not snack stand). We take 2 cases of water with them every time they go somewhere and are running low. If you are able to pick up an extra case for us please delivery directly to the band room. Thanks in advance!

Below is our newsletter with what’s happening and going on …

HOME GAME vs PARKLAND: Chaperones are: Monica Guiher, Cathy Haller, Michelle Kemmerer, Lisa Kroboth, and the Schusters. Report time is 5:30p. Gator driver is Ernie Haller at 6p by garage bay 2.

COMPETITION @ WEST CHESTER: Cindy Arroyo, Sandy Ball, Connie Bartos, Adam Dunston, and Cathy Haller. Report time is 3:00p. Truck driver is Ernie Haller. We will not have time to visit the snackstand so please bring food with you for the bus ride.

HOME SHOW: Our home show competition is Saturday October 14th. We have 11 bands signed up to participate! This is our first competition on the Calvacade circuit so we need to be sure it goes off without a hitch so they all come back next year! A signup genius for food donations will follow soon. We need ALL HANDS ON DECK for volunteering since its the WMPA that runs it. Please see sign up for volunteer positions. PLEASE HELP!

Krispy Kreme – Pickup tonight 5:45 – 6:30 in HS Caf.

Lottery Calendars – Please return any unsold calendars, along with ticket stubs and money in the envelope by 9/29 … tomorrow!

TRUCK DRIVERS WANTED: Every time the band performs the equipment and instruments need to go with them. For all home games we have a “gator” that pulls the trailer that a parent will drive on and off the field. For all away games and competitions we rent a U-Haul truck that pulls the trailer behind it. Kids do all the loading and unloading, you just drive. If you can drive please visit the sign up. YES you get in for free too!

SNACK STAND: We use the stand by the field house and the band keeps 100% of the profit! We rely on food donations and volunteers to help us.If you have any questions please reach out to Kristen Reidy. Below are links to volunteer time or resources:



LOST & FOUND: The night of the basket bingo a “Longaberger” basket was left behind. If it’s yours please let me know.

Our board meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6pm in the HS Caf and all parents are invited to attend! Our next meeting is Tuesday 10/10. We will be discussing our outdoor show next month.

Upcoming fundraisers include Thanksgiving pies and nut rolls. If you have any ideas please share with Tara Issermoyer.

Our end of the year banquet is scheduled for Sunday June 3, 2018. More info to follow closer to the date.
