MZB Update 10-7-17

It’s HOME SHOW WEEK!!! Always a highlight of our schedule, there’s nothing quite like performing on your home turf in front of friends and family and with all of the bands watching you after their own performances. Let’s be sure to give them a great show this week!

Here is a look at this week’s schedule:

Tuesday — Rehearsal 6-9 PM

Thursday — Rehearsal 6-9 PM

Friday — AWAY football game at Bethlehem Catholic ; Report time is 4:15 PM ; Truck and chaperones needed at band room by 4:45.

Saturday — Whitehall “Music in Motion” HOME SHOW! Detailed battle plan below and attached. Rehearsal begins at 1:00 PM in the STADIUM. We will need the gator at the stadium by 4:00 PM to load after rehearsal. Dinner will be provided for all students and staff after rehearsal, compliments of the WMPA!

Information for spectators for Saturday’s competition:

– Tickets: $10 for adults ; $5 for seniors/students ; Children 5 and under are FREE

A huge THANK YOU in advance to all of the parents who have volunteered or donated for our home show. This is a BIG event for us, and we are fortunate to have a large number of bands participating this year. Let’s all be sure to be gracious hosts! Our hope is that all bands will want to come back next year, and for years to come!

Lastly, if you have not already done so, please sign-up for the Google Classroom, where we will be posting the judges commentaries and other “go-to” files (such as dot sheets, sheet music parts, etc.) to cut down on the number of e-mails for access to those items.

BATTLE PLAN for Saturday, October 14

“Music in Motion” Home Show Competition

Zephyr Stadium

12:30 pm – School open

1:00 pm – Rehearsal begins on Football field

4:00 pm – Pack up equipment; Eat dinner at stadium; Help with show set-up if needed

5:55 pm – WHS Chorale sings National Anthem / Show Begins

7:15 pm – Report to Band Room; Change into Full Uniform

7:45 pm – Warm-up

9:05 pm – Whitehall MZB performance

9:20 pm – Go to back sideline stands; Awards Ceremony

9:35 pm – Go back to Band Room; Change out of uniform, put equipment away

???? – Dismissal; Everyone is required to help out after the show! The sooner we get everything done, the sooner we can go home!

A list of things all members should bring with them for the entire day:

Instrument/Equipment
Marching Shoes
Under-uniform wear
Gloves
Make-up / Hair products (Colorguard)
Raincoat
Water for during practice
Sweatshirt or jacket
Money for additional items at refreshment stand / vendors
