Welcome to all the new Indoor Percussion and Indoor Colorguard Parents from the Whitehall Music Parents Association (WMPA)!

We hope you and your member(s) are settling in to our groups. You will begin to receive emails from us as they apply to the groups especially since we are hosting a show on 4/9 at Whitehall. We will need a lot of help and food/beverage donations to make the show a success.

We are also offering you the opportunity to establish a student account with our organization and earn money for future marching band, percussion ensemble or colorguard items such as marching shoes, ensemble polos, gloves, or even your letterman’s jacket.

The fundraiser is Cherrydale Farms Chocolate bars. Each box contains 48 bars. They sell for $1 per bar. Our cost is $0.50 per bar ($24 per box) and our profit is $24 per box which will be split 50/50 between WMPA and your student account. The more you sell the bigger your student account gets. You MUST pay $48 when you pick up a box of chocolate bars. When you sell them, you keep the money because you pre-paid for them. You can pay with cash or a check made out to WMPA. If you want to sell but fronting the $48 is a hardship, let us know and we can hold your check until you return the money from selling the chocolate bars. Please let Mr. Tanzos know by Friday, January 22 how many boxes you would like to start with. He will have the first orders available on 1/27 at percussion ensemble or you can arrange another pick up time with him. If you have any questions about the sale, please contact Pete Mohr, the sale coordinator.

Please remember the students cannot sell bars during class or lunch.

Some additional details about the student account. The money can be accumulated through designated fundraisers sponsored by the WMPA. The money can only be used towards items that pertain to their activities in marching band, percussion ensemble or indoor colorguard. Money stays in a student’s account until the student uses it or graduates. If the student graduates and there is money left in their student account, the money can be transferred to a sibling in the next immediate group of marching band, percussion ensemble or indoor guard. If there is no sibling and the original member does not use all the funds, the money reverts back to the WMPA general account.

Just a reminder. Fundraising is very important. It allows us to pay the staff and pays for ancillary items throughout the season. PLEASE do your best to sell as many chocolate bars as possible. We have LOTS!

Please feel free to contact us at anytime.

Thank you!

Lisa Fenstermaker
WMPA President
